Yes. Cognisen is fully compliant with the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. How is data encrypted and protected?
All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, in full compliance with CJIS requirements. We also implement strict access controls and auditing to ensure ongoing protection of sensitive information.
Who owns the data processed by Cognisen?
Your agency retains full ownership of all data entered into Cognisen’s software or gathered during implementation.
Does Cognisen use our data to train other models?
No. Your data is never used to train models outside of your agency’s environment.

No. Cognisen helps create draft content, but all decisions and approvals remain with the officer or supervisor. Final authorship is always human.
How do humans maintain control?
Cognisen is purpose-built with a human-in-the-loop design. No action can be taken without human review, approval, or involvement.
Can officers edit AI-generated content?
Yes. All AI-generated content can be reviewed and edited by officers before it is finalized.
What happens if the AI makes a mistake?
Mistakes are rare, but when they occur, officers can immediately edit the content, and the issue is reported back to our team. This feedback loop strengthens the system over time. We demonstrate this process in detail during a live demo.
